The budget is generous enough for real quality. A photograph at 1200×800 to 1600×1000 pixels typically fits at a quality level where compression is not visible in normal use, and graphics or screenshots can go considerably larger because flat colour costs very little to encode.

Re-compressing an image that has already been through lossy encoding compounds the damage. Use the original export whenever it is available.
Screenshot text softens
Interface text needs its edges. Use Best Quality and reduce dimensions less aggressively — screenshots compress well because most of the frame is flat colour.
Very large source will not converge
A 40-megapixel image has far more detail than 100KB can carry. Enable resize rather than expecting quality reduction alone to close the gap.
